Oh, btw. if we are both online at the same time we can just use the chatbox. That's what we have it for

Re: Tavern
Usually we waren't here at the same time but lately we have been... Now I have to go and read it!
Just one detail: make the title a location. Other than the side rp, the main rp is location based.

Re: Tavern
XD
I will attempt to think up a mini-location. I think I misunderstood in the first place how totally location-based it had to be

Re: Tavern
I almost expected you to be. We didn't have that on the old forum and we didn't have it in the side rp. Sorry for the confusion! But this way anyone can come through the same location later and maybe find her tracks or something she lost etc. Once you are used to it it works rather well.
Also: add a #1 at the top of the text, so we know it's the first Oddberry-Adventure-Post
PS: Loving it so far. You just had to one up mine

Re: Tavern
i must confess I hadn't thought of it in that light, more of a this could get awfully confusing way, but i can see how it would work well.
It was unintentional... i just got very into it. I even dreamt about it last night XD

Re: Tavern
It actually doesn't. You just have to keep in mind to ad "Going to (location)" if you leave one and "coming from (location)" when you reach another. This way it's easy to follow a character through the world and you always know if they are still in a certain location or not (and where something happened in the past). Besides, with locations like Imladris you can NPCs have tell stories about things that happened there in the past simply by reading... well, what happened there in the past. It makes it easier to keep things consistent over longer periods of time.
Oh, those are the best posts. I love dreaming about what I'm writing!

Re: Tavern
Do you want to keep it there or should we maybe move your Great East Road to the "Roads etc." subforum? Maybe split the Post in the longer part taking part on the road and the short part at the end im Imladris (where she currently is)?
I am making it sound complicated, am I? I swear it's not! XD

Re: Tavern
i should add going to imladris at the bottom
I would leave it there, i feel like it leaves a better trail to follow, though i could rename it great east road - trollshaws to differentiate from great east road - breeland. It is a rather long road after all. I feel like the roads and other is best left for those places which don't really have an official name. otherwise that will end up being by far the biggest section XD especially when i get a nice explanatory map installled

Re: Tavern
We could get rid of that category alltogether and just add mini-locations to the general regions? So... my post would probably be in the same sub-forum as yours, somewhere near Imladris.

Re: Tavern
We could, I don't mind! If we were to do that I'm it sure what subcategory it would be in with the route the brothers are taking. It would probably be Eriador - Eregion. Though the lower half of Eregion is known as Hollin I'm not sure what the higher region would be. The trollshaws refers to the area around the great East Road before the Ford of bruinen inbetween the bruinen and the hoarwell...
Re: Tavern
That's why you are the geography person... wouldn't the Trollshaws work? I mean, they are a foresty area near Imladris... and that's where the brothers endet up...

Re: Tavern
Uhhhh. Rivendell is just to the east of the bruinen and the brothers are approaching from south and presumably following the roots of the misty mountains on the large strip of land between the mountains and the Greyflood. The rivers hoarwell and bruinen join southwest of rivendell to become the Greyflood and the trollshaws is a chunk north of that join, between the two rivers. Everything East of the hoarwell and West of the mountains is Eregion.
I mean they can be in the trollshaws if they decided to cross the bruinen to cross back over at the Ford (they could be really lost).
I feel like this may be easier if I attached an image

Re: Tavern
I think they are absolutely really lost. Boromir was lost in the original and Faramir for the first time has absolutely no idea where he is or how he ended up there...
Let's see, Book-Boromir went through the Gap of Rohan and followed the road to Tharbad, then crossed at the Greyflood... If he went up, wouldn't he have followed the Greenway to Bree and then take the East Road, too?
And we really could use a map at some point ... Lost Boromir in the books is my spirit animal. XD

Re: Tavern
Isn't the Nîn-in-Eilph a swamp? That doesn't seem like the best road to take.

Re: Tavern
Yeah.. that requires boromir being a logical man. My interpreation was he lost his horse trying to cross the greyflood at tharbad and either failed and came up through hollin, or decided to not go up to bree, because he does say he got lost trying to follow roads long forgotten. I wiuld certainly say he does not follow the greenway, in any case
It is indeed, a swamp. Though i think higher up the glanduin it is not a swamp, if you were to turn north as soon as you went through the gap of rohan

Re: Tavern
But this time he has Faramir with him. He knows the map and is a logical man AND he knows that Boromir is many things but not a ranger, so roads are probably the best way for him to travel
I mean, yes, they are at war, but they do not travel through enemy territory. So, why not take the roads? Easier for men and horses, maybe an inn or two along the way...

Re: Tavern
Then your brothers may take the roads we had a discussion before about where your brothers could get lost, although i figure that nothing ever came of that XD
Re: Tavern
I think it ended at: we need a map! XD
I agree with your forgotten roads, btw. I'd definitely say it implys Ost-in-Edhil and the roads once leading to it.
Let me move my post real quick.

Post moved. I'll delete the elswhere subforum. I think that's the best solution.

Re: Tavern
yup.
I think it now might be safe to say the brothers were probably attacked by some very vengeful nazgul fairly soon after oddberry escaped them.

Re: Tavern
Looks much nicer, too.
And knowing you, the map will take forever, but it will be the most beautiful map ever seen
They appeared pretty vengeful from where I watched o.o
