Eriador
A large and diversely populated region in the North-West of Middle Earth, bordered by the Blue Mountains to the West and the Misty Mountains to the East. Characterized by humid climate, warm summers and mild to cold winters, it is largely made up of scrubs and scattered woodlands, as well as hill areas with short grass.

A long mountain range that stretches out from North to South, separating Eriador to the West and the valley of the Anduin to the East. Underneath it lies hidden the greatest dwarven realm in Middle Earth. Several routes lead through those mountains. Many, however, are treacherous.

Rhovanion
A large region in the North of Middle Earth, bordered by the Grey Mountains to the North and the Ash Mountains to the South, the Misty Mountains to the West and the Sea of Rhûn to the East. It is characterized by the river Anduin and the immense forest of Greenwood the Great. While darkness spreads elven magic still shields parts of it, making it difficult for evil to enter there.

Its cities are young, but its fortresses strong and the horses of their defenders fleet-footed.

A volcanic plain in the South-East of Middle Earth, bordered by Khand to the South, Gondor to the West and Rhûn to the East. A barren land, covered in fire and ash and black stone, protected from three sides by large mountain ranges and watched by the all-seeing eye that neither sleeps nor blinks.
