Where do we start? (Boromir, Oddberry, Glorfindel, Faramir, so far)

Where do we start when we start? My suggestion would be for Boromir and Faramir after we just escaped the Nine and Faramir has stolen the horse. Maybe they stop to tend to their wounds. I imagine they lost some or even all of their men during the attack (if Boromir took anyone beside Faramir). While they take a break the Wandering Company could come across them, sans Gildor (unless we find someone who wants to take him), but maybe plus Glorfindel and/or Oddberry. (I would like some nosy elves who recognize one of their own in Faramir... and Faramir not understanding a word they say. Could be funny.)

Thoughts?

While everyone is arriving? The brothers are just having trouble on the road. If they meet Oddberry there or elsewhere depends on what you have in mind for her. Nothing decided yet, I'd say. We can still change everything.

Let's just... pretend that we remember we decided to do it like this. And see what we can come up with.

Another reason I want elves to come along is that during the fight they will have lost men, horses and dogs. And maybe one (Boromir? If we want that another time?) has been wounded by a Nazgul blade. They need some light and curious playful elves.

But where will she be? Out and about or waiting in Rivendel?

It was an epic bit of storyline with nazgul-possessed Boromir; I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it again.

That is the question. Which direction are boromir and faramir arriving from? The High Pass or the Gap of Rohan?
I just need to get my head round Oddberry's personal timeline, when she received the Ring etc. Of course she could have already arrived in rivendell and is doing some wandering around...

Depends on whether or not Gem wants to write it again. Maybe she wants to try something new. But I enjoyed it, too.

Do we know which route Boromir originally took?

Maybe she had some Orc/Nazgul problems herself?

Regarding the route boromir originally took he apparently came through the gap of rohan, lost his horse crossing the greyflood and then it's a tad bit of a mystery.
what would have made the most logical sense is for him to continue up the greenway to bree and follow the east road from there but that's a long way round. The next logical course is to follow the river but. however iirc he says at the council that he got lost a lot following old roads so i think the first two options are unlikely. In short, boromir tried to be clever and made the journey way way longer than it needed to be. Irregardless of getting lost that route does seem most logical, the alternative is wiggling up past fangorn and lorien pretty much to mirkwood and crossing the mountains there which seems like a whole lot of effort (plus those tricksy elves )

I've been having thoughts re oddberry and I think she has/will come up from bree with some light nazgul pursuit, and a fairly safe arrival in rivendell is managed. However if anyone else gets involved or decide a suuuper long journey to rivendell is needed then that can change

He has Faramir with him this time and will get lost considerably less xD (Though, lost Boromir is now my spirit animal. I have no sense of direction. At all. His track is absolutely what would have happened to me, even if I knew the route.)

Maybe the Nazgul originally followed Oddberry, lost her, got frustrated and then chanced upon the Gondorian brothers?

Nazgul possessed Boromir is certainly making a return! I enjoyed that far too much! After all, who says the Ringbearer is the only one allowed to have another voice in their head?
He likely wouldn't have taken anyone aside from Faramir with him, since Denethor didn't even let him return home one last time before sending him off to Rivendell.

Didn't he originally have an escort? But I'll leave that up to you. As long as you take me along.

In the original, book and film, I meant. But we can change it the way it suits us best. Better not have them along than to lose most of them in a fight with the Nazgul.

I don't remember that part. Besides less people would be more easy for us to control in the long run.

After all, it was quite a situation last time! And Boromir was indeed alone at the time, Berilorn was somewhere behind him.

Then we'll leave them home. Depending on what Wyn has in mind we could either cross the river alone when fleeing the Nazgul or we could meet the Wandering Company (plus Glorfindel, probably minus Gildor since we don't have one yet) and reach Rivendel with them.
