Re: Tavern
Ugh, that love triangle was so bad, so bad... Even our odd love triangle in the old rp had more potential! (And it was bad enough and no real love triangle).
I really want to see what they end up with... this could be so good. And it could be so terrible.
The author from Metro called him an "old fool" for what happened with the game. And the Metro books are actually fun to read, so...
Aww! Puppets! Reminds me of my childhood. They seemed more common then.
Btw. I made a plotting and planning post where we can discuss where and how to start. We could do that without everything being ready and finish what's missing as we go...

Re: Tavern
it was horrific. All based off someone going oooh look at leggy's jealous look this has to be a love triangle, girls and boys can't be friends.
Even if it's terrible it will at least be fun terrible
Oh yeah he was a total fool. At least he could have taken it gracefully. But alas, he didn't.
Yes, I think waiting for things to be ready could take a very very long time.

Re: Tavern
Of course not. That's just ridiculous.
That's why I'm leaning towards suggesting that we start while finishing the rest. Maybe?

Re: Tavern
I've finished almost everything I wanted to write nah, I think we have the essentials. As far as descriptions and stuff goes, we can add that when we use a city or place. Or leave the first post empty to add that description later. Everything else... elves will take time and your poisons. The timeline Gem is working on will take some time, too. But we don't absolutely need them ready to start posting a little... and personally I would really like to. So many ideas!

Re: Tavern
yeah you're doing way better than me I agree I think we are fairly ready to go and get something going. Plus it's such a good excuse to procrastinate at work XD
On an unrelated note, interestingly the app notifications come in before the email alerts XD

Re: Tavern
Or you've had enough other things to deal with while I had some hyper creative free days to work on forum stuff?
I still miss those that left, but I'm happy the four of us made it. And maybe the one or other new member decides to join? Maybe the series will make Lotr more popular again?

Re: Tavern
sorry. work happened, halloween is nearing and toffee apple season is going totally mental!
I do hope the new LOTR series makes it more popular, it would be nice to have some new faces around.
On that subject apparently a casting call went out in nz for tall people (with beards and interesting noses) 6ft and 6ft 8" + and short people between 4ft and 4 11". So I think we might be getting us some hobbits!

Re: Tavern
Don't worry about it. Halloween isn't nearly as big over here, but even here people are busy.
Maybe things would be a bit more active around here with more people, but we haven't actively advertised (or officially finished building) the forum.
Aren't dwarves and orcs small as well? And whats with the noses? Which people have "interesting noses"?

Re: Tavern
Eh tbf Halloween goes mostly unnoticed over here, nowhere near as bad as in america. And now our main client is screwing us over so its always fun.
yes... that would possibly help XD
in my excitement, i had not considered that. Although 4ft is a tad small for a dwarf

Re: Tavern
We're a small business, and we are relatively low capacity, so we can only have one main client per season if they want us to supply nationwide. Because of this there are a bunch of protections surrounding us if a client no longer wants us as a supplier. And that's basically what's happened this year, but this client has a history of bullying small businesses into pulling out of supply before the client has to jump through the hoops to get rid of them. Long story short they asked for an impossible product (ambient stable toffee apples are not possible in large batches), 'forget' to send us the order forecast, ignore our emails, and when we finally get the official order through they want an order which is double our top capacity.
They wanted a total of 56k apples which at max capacity with no problems is 14 straight production hours for each product. In reality it's more like 18. Especially as they're custom packaging is just... a nightmare. It worked out at like 30 pallets (plus we have other supply commitments) and we can only get 12 on a lorry so the lorry had to go out 3 times (the last left at 9pm). We did not get the whole order done which caused such blinding rage in our buyer at the client that he spent 10 minutes screaming at a 65 yr old woman. Which is besides the point but...
Anyway, the rest of that week was hell, and since the start of this week they have been ordering basically nothing which is really bad, us being seasonal and all that. And we know it's not industry-wide because our sales are up on small wholesale Customers, we've actually sent more to the wholesale markets than the client, and our other major ish retail client is up as well (we supply 20% of their depots). They've also just announced they're not putting our product on promotion this year (they're meant to give us 2 months warning iirc) so it's not getting better. They're also deliberately pricing extremely uncompetitively... It's all round hell.
Yes. New Zealand. Happy thoughts of hope and nz and hobbiton. Praying for hobbits!

Heeeyy
Sorry I've been AWOL. And apologies for the rant and mildly bad language of my previous post. This was probably not the best place for an angry rant. I have edited it XD
Anyway, the season ended about a week and a half ago, I'm back on part-time and stress levels have gone down enough for me to constructively use a pc (stress-induced migraines triggered by screens and a new found long-sightedness). I keep losing my glasses but all is fine. Any of the rest of you hanging around?

Re: Tavern
Oh... wow. This sounds like the build-up for a crime story and extremely stressful. I hope you made it through in one piece.
I do have news about my mead project: Turns out the beekeeper I had in mind ... is already making mead. I didn't know and it's delicious!
Edit: I was just writing my own reply when you posted this. No need to apologize. As you can see, I've been busy as well. (And, if it were for me, no need to edit out supposedly "bad language". But if you feel better doing that, alright.) Glad to hear you survived this mess!

I forgot it was Nanowrimo! no worries, have fun! We'll all be free at the same time one day!
Re: Tavern
Also, is there no way to change the notifications to show thread names instead of "watched topic" please? I came back to 28 of them saying you two had posted in "a watched topic" which was confusing!

Even now I'm getting confused by those. And there's only two topics that I'm currently in!

Re: Tavern
There's a very real chance that it isn't possible, just because we have the free version and our access to the actual code is limited.
