Rules: Forum (general) and Roleplay

General Rules
- Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is illegal, sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted. That includes links to sites containing such material.
- Sexuality and violence may be present in roleplay-posts in moderation. We do not allow overly explicit descriptions of either.
- Since this is the internet and we communicate in written form only, remember that misunderstandings can happen easily and that behind every account there is a person. Try to be as respectful and polite as possible. If you cannot settle disputes among yourselves ask an admin for help.
- Do not post images, links, videos or other off-topic content in the roleplay section.
- Spam, advertising or self-promotion are prohibited. The only exception are thematically relevant websites or forums which will allow us to promote our forum on their webspace in turn. Those please apply here: Forum Partners.
- Only admins may create new categories (for example: Gondor) and sub-categories (for example: Minas Tirith) in the roleplay section. Users may create new topics (for example: The Drunken Soldier's Inn) in sub-categories, but should include a description of the location in the first post.
- In case of an absence longer than two weeks make sure to inform us about it here: Absence. Otherwise your character sheet will be archived and after a warning your inactive account will eventually be deleted.
- Be aware that the admins ultimately have the last word and the ability to ban you.
Multiple Accounts/Characters
Since it is not currently possible to register multiple accounts on the same email-address, but we do allow for multiple characters per writer (which all require a separate account to keep track) we have to use a small work-around. Admins can change your email-address to be the same for every character after registration. However, for the registration itself you will need a second email-address. This does not mean that you need a second email-account yourself. Admins can briefly led their email-address to you for your old account, while you register the new one. Afterwards we change all email-addresses of your character-accounts back to yours.
Do not register multiple accounts/characters without informing us first. We can and we will help you, but you have to let us know.
Avatar and Signature Rules
- The avatar used for your account has to, like the user name, depict the character you are writing with it. It has to fit the High Fantasy setting and should not already be in use by someone else.
- The signature has to fit the High Fantasy setting and the character.
- Do not use photos or artwork without the creator's permission.
- Do not use random images found on Google Image Search or through similar means, of which you do not know the source and which you have not been granted permission to use by their original creators.
- Include the source of your avatar in that character's character sheet. (For example, the artist's name in case of an artwork which you have been allowed to use. In case of a movie character depicted by an actor and allowed for fan-use, include the actor's name and the movie or tv-show.) If you have special permission to use an image or if it has been created specifically for you, please add that as well.
- What can you use?: Original images that you have created, images that you have been given permission to use by the artist, images that are explicitly distributed with permission to be used for purposes like this.
- Avatar size cannot exceed 200x600 px.
- The signature may be an image. This image cannot exceed 600x200 px.
- The signature may contain a link to the connected character sheet. No other links and no animations.
Absence, Leave:
Expecting or during a longer periode of absence (longer than two weeks), please inform us admins and your fellow writers about it here: Absence
Otherwise your character sheet will be archived, your canon character will be passed on to someone else, and after a warning your account will eventually be deleted.
If you wish to leave our forum or just the roleplay, please inform us about your decision either in Absence or by contacting one of the admins via PM. As sad as we are to see someone go, it is better to know for certain than to be kept in the dark or even worry. You do not have to explain your reason for leaving, just let us know that you are leaving.
